PhD Nutrition is a premium, active-nutrition brand for the active lifestyle community wanting intelligent nutrition to help them achieve their goals. With over 20 years of research and development, our products are designed to maximise performance in and out of the gym. It’s an exciting time for PhD Nutrition as 2025 will kick off an entirely new line up of brand ambassadors, from hybrid athletes to qualified sports nutritionists.
The two brands sell through the phd.com and scienceinsport.com digital platforms, third-party online marketplaces including Amazon, as well as extensive domestic and international retail distribution.
In 2022 the company opened a state of the art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. Providing a significant advantage in product costs and customer response time and most importantly, allowing Science In Sport to lead the way for quality standards.
Science In Sport is a Performance Solutions partner to globally recognised elite teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, Saracens Rugby, British Triathlon, Aquatics GB, British Cycling, England Netball and Loughborough Sports. As well as being the Official Energy Gel Provider of RunThrough and the Official Nutrition Partner of Ultra X.
The Role
The Creative Lead will be responsible for shaping and elevating the creative direction for both Science in Sport and PhD Nutrition. This role will lead the development of compelling, high-impact visual and video content that brings the brands to life across Amazon, UK and international retail, and digital platforms.
Reporting into the Executive Team, the Creative Lead will manage our creative studio and the creative team, ensuring creative output is consistently aligned with brand strategy, campaign objectives, and channel-specific requirements. You will act as a guardian of brand identity, while pushing creative boundaries to drive engagement, conversion, and brand loyalty across all consumer touchpoints.

- Working Hours: 9am to 5.30pm (you may be required to work outside of these hours)

The work - Your 4 most important responsibilities
- Creative Direction & Brand Guardianship
Lead the creative vision for both brands across all channels—Amazon, international, retail, and digital—ensuring content is visually consistent, emotionally resonant, and strategically aligned. Champion the brand’s tone, look and feel across packaging, e-commerce, social media, and in-store activations. Ensure all creative work reflects the brand’s values, mission, and positioning. - Team Leadership & Development
Manage and mentor the creative team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team. Provide clear briefs, constructive feedback, and development opportunities to help the team grow and deliver their best work across diverse formats and platforms. Encourage a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Campaign & Content Delivery
Oversee the end-to-end creative process for international and regional campaigns and content initiatives, from concept through to execution. Collaborate with marketing, digital, and commercial teams to ensure creative assets are tailored to each channel’s needs and delivered on time and on budget. Ensure creative supports key commercial moments, product launches, and brand storytelling across all regions. - Innovation & Trend Awareness
Stay ahead of creative trends in design, video, and digital storytelling, particularly within the sports, fitness, and FMCG sectors. Bring fresh thinking and innovative ideas to the table, ensuring the brand remains culturally relevant and creatively competitive across all markets. Identify new formats, platforms, and technologies that can enhance brand engagement and visibility
Accountability – what you are responsible for delivering
- Creative Output: Deliver high-quality, on-brand creative assets across Amazon, retail, and digital channels that meet campaign and commercial objectives.
- Team Performance: Lead, coach, and develop the creative team to ensure consistent delivery of high-impact creative work.
- Campaign Execution: Ensure creative work is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to campaign KPIs, including product launches, seasonal campaigns, and brand initiatives.
- Brand Consistency: Maintain visual and tonal consistency across all global markets and platforms, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and creative standards.
- Channel Relevance: Tailor creative to suit the nuances of each channel, from Amazon A+ content and PDP imagery to in-store POS and digital advertising.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, e-commerce, retail, and international teams to align creative with business goals and market needs.
- Content Planning: Contribute to the content calendar and campaign planning process, ensuring creative is aligned with key trading and marketing moments.
- Asset Management: Oversee the organisation and accessibility of creative assets, ensuring efficient workflows and version control across markets.
- Creative Briefing: Translate marketing and brand strategies into clear, actionable creative briefs for internal and external teams.
- Agency & Partner Management: Collaborate with external agencies, freelancers, and production partners when needed, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Budget Oversight: Manage creative budgets for production and content creation, ensuring efficient use of resources and return on investment.

Experience
- Demonstrable experience in a senior creative role, ideally within a consumer brand, agency, or FMCG/lifestyle sector.
- Proven experience leading creative campaigns across Amazon, retail, and digital platforms.
- Experience managing and mentoring creative professionals in a demanding, multichannel environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work, including brand campaigns, packaging, video, and digital content.
- Experience working with global teams and adapting creative for international markets.
